Who is Mike the Tiger?
Mike the Tiger is the live BengalāSiberian mix tiger who serves as the official mascot of Louisiana State University. More than just a symbol, Mike represents school pride, tradition, and the unique bond between LSU students, alumni, and the Baton Rouge community.
Unlike costumed mascots, Mike is a living ambassador whose presence emphasizes responsibility, respect for wildlife, and the importance of ethical animal care. History
Mike the Tiger has been LSUās mascot for decades, with multiple generations of tigers carrying the name. The current live mascot is Mike VII, the seventh tiger in the lineage of LSUās live mascots.
